Roku has appointed Lisa Holme, a seasoned executive with experience at Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and Hulu, as its new Head of Content for Roku Media, effective September 8. In this Santa Monica–based role, Holme will report directly to Roku Media President Charlie Collier and oversee the company’s global content operations—including original programming, content acquisitions and partnerships, sports, branded content, and “This Old House” programming—as well as studio output and innovations in emerging verticals and technologies.
Commenting on her appointment, Holme said: “I’m thrilled to join Roku at such an exciting time in the company’s evolution. The platform’s momentum and the team’s commitment to innovation create a perfect environment to push creative boundaries even further. I look forward to building on Roku’s strong foundation while exploring new ways to connect audiences with the content they love through cutting-edge technology.”
Roku Media President Charlie Collier added: “Lisa is an exceptional leader whose expertise spans every facet of the streaming content business. She brings a deep understanding of what resonates with audiences and elevates platforms, plus tremendous skill in leveraging those data-driven insights. Her proven ability to build teams, and her respect for the creative process and the people who bring stories to life, will make her an invaluable partner for Roku, our colleagues, and our peers, and we’re thrilled to have her join us.”
Holme succeeds David Eilenberg, who departed Roku in May to become Creative Director at ITV America, following a three-year tenure at the company. Prior to joining Roku, Holme most recently served as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer at The North Road Company. Her distinguished career includes shaping multiplatform content strategies for Discovery+ and HBO Max at WBD and leading content licensing, co-productions, partnerships, and strategy as Vice President of Content Acquisition at Hulu.
Holme’s appointment reflects Roku’s ambition to expand content offerings and enhance viewer engagement by investing in content strategy leadership with a strong background in both creative development and streaming ecosystem innovation.
