"Whitney: I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
Sky and Sony Pictures Television have agreed a multi-year continuation of their partnership, which will see major Sony Pictures Entertainment feature films and popular SPT television series come to Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment customers in the UK and Ireland.
The deal will bring some of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s biggest titles and franchises to Sky Cinema customers. This slate includes highly anticipated films such as “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” “Gran Turismo,” “Equalizer 3,” the next instalment of the “Ghostbusters” franchise, and the next feature films in the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. The deal also includes recent hits such as hugely popular Whitney Houston biopic “Whitney: I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “A Man Called Otto.”
Sky Cinema customers will continue to have access to an extensive selection of the most popular films in the Sony Pictures Entertainment catalogue, including films in the “Spider-Man,” “Ghostbusters,” “Jumanji,” “Men In Black,” “Bad Boys,” and “Karate Kid” franchises. Meanwhile, Sky Entertainment customers will have access to future seasons of hit series “The Good Doctor” and “S.W.A.T.”
Sony Pictures film and television content remains hugely popular across Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment. In under 12 months, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has been viewed over 3 million times. This latest deal gives customers access to over 600 hours of iconic film and television of premier Sony Pictures content. The multi-year extension also allows Sky Store customers to buy or rent hugely popular film and TV series from the Sony Pictures library. In addition, it includes live and on demand content for streaming service NOW.
