SPI's "Senhor Presidente, O Campeonato de uma Vida" reaches massive audiences

It is a three-episode documentary series about the life of the iconic President of Futebol Clube do Porto (FCP). Despite being on the air for less than a week, it already leads the top 10 most-watched programs in Portugal.

The living history of Portuguese football takes over the screen: "Senhor Presidente, O Campeonato de uma Vida" has already been available on streaming since 15 March and, in less than a week, it has reached first place in the top 10 most watched programmes, thus gaining the preference of viewers. This is a three-episode documentary series about the life of the iconic President of Futebol Clube do Porto (FCP), which features the testimony of Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa himself, as well as José Mourinho, Sérgio Conceição, Florentino Pérez, Pepe, Jorge Mendes, the former President of the Republic General Ramalho Eanes, among many others.

This documentary series, a SPi production in partnership with Prime Video and Futebol Clube do Porto (FCP) was written by Cristina Arvelos and Pedro Lopes and marks a significant moment in the history of Portuguese football by honouring one of its most emblematic leaders. It´s 86 years of a life of obstacles turned into victories, both on and off the pitch. For the first time, the FCP president is given access to his private life, in a first- person account that also includes the participation.of his family, friends and many of the figures he met throughout his career.

The launch took place at an exclusive event at the Fundação de Serralves, in Porto, on the day of the premiere and was attended by some of Portugal´s political, cultural and sporting personalities. Among the guests were Pinto da Cost family, his daughter Joana and grandson Nuno. After the screening of the documentary, the guests had the opportunity to share their impressions and experiences over a cocktail.
