"The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast"
STARZ has renewed its docuseries "The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast" for a six-part second season, featuring an exclusive interview with Terry Flenory. The network has released a first look teaser and will debut an extended sneak peek—including exclusive interview footage—this Friday, June 6 on the STARZ app, aligning with the season four premiere of the hit scripted series "BMF."
"The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast" is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson ("BMF," "Power" Universe) and Shan Nicholson ("Jerusalem: City of Faith and Fury," "Rubble Kings"), who also serves as the series’ showrunner. Additional executive producers include Razan Ghalayini, Richard Perello, and Stacey Offman, with co-executive producers Khidija Rivera and Jessica Vale, and supervising producer Kenyatta Steans. The docuseries is produced for STARZ by Jigsaw Productions and G-Unit Film & Television.
The docuseries, which delves deeper into the real-life stories of the Black Mafia Family figures who inspired the scripted series "BMF," also serves as a companion to its fourth season, premiering Friday, June 6 on STARZ. It’s designed for true crime fans seeking more of the legendary saga, featuring the real players behind the Flenory family story.
"The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast" chronicles the rise and fall of the most notorious drug syndicate in American history, Black Mafia Family (BMF). Emerging from the streets of Detroit in the early 1980s, BMF leaders Meech and Terry Flenory became two of the most infamous drug traffickers in the U.S. In the six-part second season, Terry Flenory tells his story for the first time. With never-before-seen firsthand accounts, this season offers an in-depth exploration of ambition, success, family, and risking everything for the American Dream.
“‘BMF’ has made a profound impact on hip-hop and culture, and the success of our unscripted and scripted series is a testament to its iconic status in the zeitgeist,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ. “Our audience is hungry for more and we’re excited to continue to expand their experience with this true story, featuring the real-life players of BMF, as well as a never-before-heard firsthand account from Terry himself.”
The docuseries complements the popular scripted drama "BMF," which tells the story inspired by brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest Tee” Flenory, who rose from poverty and navigated the war on drugs in Detroit. The scripted series continues BMF’s journey as they grow their empire and leave an indelible mark on hip-hop and culture. Season four premieres Friday, June 6 on the STARZ app and across all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
