The Kitchen, the industry’s Emmy Award Winning language services studio, is celebrating the company’s 24th anniversary on May 5, 2025, “We continue to be focused on the future and we predict that it is going to be very exciting,” explained Ken Lorber, President/CEO.
From analog to digital, Fedex-ing of video tapes to instantaneous transmission, to new workflow technologies such as OOONA and Voice Q—The Kitchen remains in the forefront of international languaging technology.
With security of content guaranteed via TPN Gold Badge, to their 24-hour language “hubs” available for media services in Miami (for North and South America) and Madrid (for Europe and Asia), The Kitchen continues to provide the very latest in technology to its global clients.
“Much like the industry was wary of the introduction of video in the late ‘70’s, AI will be the next technology to evolve and to enhance virtually every aspect of our business. It is here to stay, and yes, the industry, at this time, is somewhat skeptical for sure,” added Lorber. “AI may not be the solution to all our challenges, but what may evolve in the next six months, or six years, is anyone’s guess. Currently, our teams are ardently working within the AI realm to integrate those features that effectively enhance our daily workflows”.
“What’s important to our clients internationally is how we address their questions and concerns about AI, for example,” Ken Lorber commented. “We want to have the answers and the ability to work with our clients in successfully bringing them into the world of Artificial Intelligence. At this point in time, it’s premature to abandon traditional dubbing methods for certain types of content, but we are beginning to incorporate hybrid “human in the loop” AI dubbing models that bring cost efficiencies to catalog and budget conscious media. We are also integrating hybrid AI models for translation, captioning and subtitles, and yes, there are cost savings that we pass on to our clients. We have been working closely with one of the Media Industry’s top AI experts, Josh Pine (formerly CRO at XL8.ai), to help identify, integrate and offer to our clients the industry’s best AI localization products. Our goal is to continue to remain in the forefront of the world of language services, and we relish the opportunity to remain a step ahead of the pack,” Lorber concluded.
