The Kitchen Hungary is developing Ukrainian localization services during the war. “Strategically, having Kitchen dubbing studios in multiple locations around the globe gives us a unique perspective on international events, good or bad,” Ken Lorber, President/CEO of The Kitchen Worldwide explained.

“With the challenge of rapidly relocating the Ukrainian people, we are able to assist Ukrainian companies and its people, by offering Ukrainian localization services from our studios in Budapest. Albeit the communications required to get messages and programming to their scattered population, or to giving Ukrainian talent an opportunity, we are here to assist in any way we can”, Gabor Somogyi, Managing Director of The Kitchen Hungary, said.

Somogyi continued, “The setup of our Ukrainian localization service is based on the fact that we have a number of professional Ukrainian talents in Budapest who are available to work. We have contacted a Ukrainian director we knew, who moved to Budapest years before the war, to head our local team. As the situation is changing on a daily basis and most refugees are staying in Hungary for an unknown about of time…we all hope that the need for our services is temporary”.

Most of the requests for Ukrainian are for voice over projects. The Kitchen Hungary can, however, provide lip sync dubbing and subtitling services as well, with the same quality that The Kitchen is known for worldwide. “We are not aware of any other country offering Ukrainian localization services at this time, however we know that the population of the war-torn Ukraine, is now spread throughout the region, and that countries such as Poland could follow suit," Gabor Somogyi added.

Many of the Ukrainian voice talents were in Hungary before the war. The refugees are in Hungary with an unknown future. The goal is to offer required language services, and to bring in and train new voices, to somewhat brighten and bring hope to their future.

The Kitchen Hungary is part of The Kitchen Worldwide. The Emmy Award Winning language studios are also located in: Israel; Russia; Moldova; MENA; France; Italy; Germany; Spain; Turkey; Argentina; Brazil; Mexico and the US.
