TVF International has announced a slew of deals across the educational and non-theatric markets, finding homes for factual programming with academic publishing companies and streaming providers, museums, and in school curriculums.

All deals were negotiated by Alex Lindsay, Sales Executive at TVF International, who commented: “Our position as a leading factual distributor means there is a natural synergy between our catalogue and the educational market. Topics such as technology, world affairs and social justice are in-demand for educators, and TVF are able to provide a diverse range of international titles on these topics and more. At the core of all documentaries is a drive to educate and expand viewers' perspectives. Finding homes for our titles across the educational and non-theatric markets is a hugely rewarding part of my job, and an aspect of our business model that aligns closely with TVF International's core values.”

The distributor placed over 115 hours of programming with academic streaming provider, Alexander Street, part of ProQuest. Notable titles include "AI & You" (1x52) produced by Animo TV Productions and commissioned by RTÉ, which explores the societal impact of artificial intelligence, and "The Last Seed" (1x52) by Andrea Gema Films, which addresses critical challenges facing the global seed industry. Other key titles include "Life is Precious" (7x27), commissioned by Globoplay, which features inspiring stories from people living with life-threatening conditions, and "This Is Me" (5x30), commissioned by TV9, which explores sexual and gender fluidity.

Publisher and multimedia studio, Dreamscape, secured a 40-hour package from the distributor, which included "The Exiles: Secretly Deported" (2x48), which uncovers post-WWII deportations from the UK and Australia of Asian servicemen, and "The New Hire" (2x48), which offers an insightful look at workplace inclusion for individuals with disabilities, both produced by Mediacorp and commissioned by CNA. Dreamscape also acquired Sky Arts’ "Will’s Book: Shakespeare’s First Folio" (1x60) which chronicles the story behind the creation of one of the most influential books ever published. The package also includes "Time to Work" (1x56), which examines evolving workplace dynamics globally, including the four-day work week; "Fake News: A True History" (1x60) produced by Wingspan Productions for BBC4.

Educational video platform, ClickView, acquired 50 hours of programming from the distributor, including "Carbon" (1x55 / 1x89), a multi-award-winning documentary narrated by Sarah Snook, which demystifies this most talked-about but least understood element. Other titles include "AI at Work" (1x52), "Bending Light" (1x52 / 1x84), commissioned by Super Channel, TVO, and Knowledge, which examines how a 1922 expedition to Australia revolutionised science, and "Forgotten Palate: A Future in Ancient Grains" (2x48), produced by Mediacorp and commissioned by CNA, which explores the global movement to return to ancient farming techniques that are less damaging to the planet.

Elsewhere, Swedish Films acquired "Fluid: Life Beyond the Binary" (1x60), a Kensington Communications production commissioned by CBC and hosted by award-winning non-binary comedian Mae Martin, which delves into the science of gender and sexual fluidity. The educational platform also secured "Atlas of a Changing Earth" (1x50), which uses cutting-edge mapping technology to illustrate the impact of climate change.

Sage Publications enhanced its Criminology & Criminal Justice strand with investigative documentaries, including "Fighting Traffick" (1x44), which follows activists working to rescue victims of human trafficking in Canada, "Prison Moms" (1x44), which offers unprecedented access to the lives of incarcerated mothers, and "Yonge Street Uprising" (1x44), which explores Toronto's 1992 Yonge Street uprising ignited by police racism, all commissioned by CityTV.
