TVF International closes deals with broadcasters across Benelux

Factual distributor has secured a number of sales across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, closing deals on titles ranging from wildlife and aerials, to history and world affairs.

TVF International has sold wildlife, aerials, history world affairs content across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. National Geographic licensed the latest series of Skyworks’ long-running aerial hit "The World From Above" (14x26), which this time visits Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Montana’s Bighorn Canyon, and flies to the peak of the Matterhorn in Switzerland. The network also licensed "Australia From Above" (5x52), "UAE From Above" (1x52) and "Oman From Above" (1x52).

In the Netherlands and Luxembourg, TVF closed deals with RTL for BBC factual entertainment series, "Secrets of the Aquarium" (6x60), which follows the lives of keepers and creatures in the UK’s largest aquarium. RTL also licensed "Super Tunnel", a Windfall Films production going behind-the-scenes of the construction of London’s Elizabeth Line, the biggest engineering project in Europe.

Elsewhere, Belgian public broadcaster VRT licensed a trilogy of taboo-busting Davina McCall documentaries from Finestripe Productions: "The Pill Revolution" (1x45) debunking the myths of the oral contraceptive pill, "Sex, Mind and the Menopause" (1x47) and "Sex, Myths and the Menopause" (1x47), two docs destigmatising and demystifying menopause. The pubcaster also licensed history doc "Castro’s Spies" (1x103 / 1x50) from Gambit Pictures, which tells the story of Cuban spies sent to the US in the 1990s, using never before seen footage and exclusive first-hand testimony.

DPG MEDIA acquired a number of investigative documentaries from TVF International, including Veracity Productions’ "The Bitcoin Kid: Inside a Crypto-Heist" (1x44) about the largest individual cryptocurrency heist of all time, and revenge porn documentary, "You’ve Been Posted" (1x44). The broadcaster also licensed Mediacorp’s "The Truth about Mukbang" (1x48), which investigates the benefits and dangers of this viral overeating phenomenon.

In the Netherlands, pubcaster NPO 2 Extra licensed "Brilliant Ideas" (77x22), a Bloomberg series featuring the world’s most influential and provocative artists. The channel also picked up a selection of episodes from the award-winning short form travel series, "Little Big World" (132x4-7), which uses time-lapse technology to capture the world as it’s never been seen it before.
