TVF International features 80 new hours of factual content, leading by WWII titles

The independent distributor will present its diverse summer slate at Sunny Side of the Doc and Sheffield DocFest this month.

TVF International is bringing over 80 brand-new hours of factual programming to Sunny Side of the Doc and Sheffield Doc Fest, which will take place in June. New WWII history titles lead TVF’s slate, including BBC Storyville and ABC commission, "Our Dad the Nazi Killer" (1x59 / 2x52 / 1x90), from Identity Productions, which investigates alleged revenge killings of Nazis living in post-war Australia, and "The Day the War Ended" (1x52 / 1x105) from Fun Job Studios, investigating the effects of the war’s end on the people of Taiwan, who, under Japanese rule for the previous 50 years, suddenly became ‘Chinese’.

Also in history, the distributor is launching CBC documentary "Atomic Reaction: Canada's Secret Role in the Manhattan Project" (2x45 / 1x90) and Channel 4’s "Edward vs George: The Windsors at War" (2x47) from DoubleBand Films, which uncovers the bitter family feud between these two Kings.



In world affairs, TVF are launching BBC-commission, "Stacey Dooley: Growing Up Gypsy" (1x54), from Little Venice Studios, in which presenter, Stacey Dooley, is invited into the traditionally private Traveller community to meet women who are defying stereotypes and breaking the mould in this misunderstood and maligned minority, and "Wombless: India's Hysterectomy Crisis" (2x47), a CNA-commissioned series from Mediacorp, exploring forced hysterectomies across India.



Also from Mediacorp for CNA, the distributor is launching fast turnaround current affairs documentary "The Myanmar Earthquake" (1x47) and "Addicted: Inside the Global Drugs Trade" (3x47). Their slate also includes two new specials of Mediacorp’s investigative series, "When Titans Clash" (14x47) and "The Tech and Trade Wars" (1x47), about the burgeoning trade war between the US and China and "The Tariff War Hits Asia" (1x47), about the impact of Trump’s tariffs on Asia and the world, as well as "China and the Global South" (2x47) which is also returning for a second series, this time evaluating China’s huge infrastructures investments across Southeast Asia.

Elsewhere, the distributor is taking a strong offering of science and environment titles to the Summer markets, including the BBC’s "Are We Ready For Net Zero?" (4x52) from Attaboy TV, SR/Arte’s City. "Climate.Sustainability" (4x26) from Qatsi.tv, and CNA’s "The Earthquake Detectives" (1x47) from Mediacorp. Also in Science, "The Carbon Hunters" (3x45), from CIPM, leads viewers on a global journey to uncover the secrets of this misunderstood element. Rounding out TVF’s science offerings is "Visions du Réel" documentary from Jeffrey Zablotny, and "Messengers" (1x45), a poetic exploration of infinity and the vastness of our universe, through the lens of subatomic particles.

In health and relationships, medical ob-doc series "Transplant Stories" (4x50) for Knowledge Network, TBS’ "Childhood Obesity: A Silent Pandemic" (1x58) for Movistar Plus+ and "My AI Relationship" (1x54) from Artefact Films, which explores the complex and growing world of AI chatbot romance, lead the slate.

The distributor is launching four new wildlife titles, including Discovery’s "Bull Shark Face Off: USA vs Australia" (1x48) from Breakout Productions, ZDF/Arte’s "Wild Family: Living with Jaguars" (5x26 / 1x52) from Grifa Films and EBS’ "The Pacific Ocean" (3x50). Also in Wildlife, "The Cradle of Nature" (3x30 / 1x90) for Migu explores the ecosystem of the remote Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in this pure wildlife series.

Across factual entertainment, the distributor is taking Knowledge Network’s action-packed access doc, "Wildfire" (5x50), from Burning Films, to market, alongside new fishing series "Untamed Anglers: The Monster Quest" (5x48) and "Licence to Drive" (6x30) from Sweet Productions for Sky NZ, which follows young drivers with disabilities learning to take the wheel.

Finally, in arts and lifestyle, TVF are launching NDR/Arte biopic "Rauschenberg: Everything is Art" (1x52) from Brandmedia Film, aerial documentaries "Cambodia From Above" (1x52) and "Castles From Above", Series 2 (6x52), as well as new seasons of therapeutic gardening programme, "Healing Gardens", Series 2 (5x23), and coastal travel and conservation programme, "Wild Coastal Canada", Series 3 (10x24).
