Vertical has acquired the North American rights to Home Sweet Home: Rebirth, the live-action adaptation of the successful video game. The film is set to be released in April and is directed by Alexander Kiesl and Steffen Hacker. The cast includes Michele Morrone (365 Days, Subservience), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia saga, The Royals), Thai-Norwegian actress Yaya Urassaya Sperbund (Brother of the Year, Fast and Feel Love), and K-Pop/K-Drama star Alexander Lee (Moorim School: Saga of the Brave, My Korean Jagiya).

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to have sealed this partnership with Vertical for the North American release of Home Sweet Home: Rebirth. Their commitment to delivering exciting narratives perfectly aligns with our vision for the film,” said producer Dean Altit.

"Home Sweet Home: Rebirth" is a fascinating explosion of visual effects. We are excited to bring this internationally resonant action thriller to North American audiences,” said Rachel White, Vertical’s Manager of Acquisitions and Sales.

The film follows Jake (Moseley), a police officer who becomes trapped in an alternate world called The Hindrance during a deadly shootout in a shopping mall. With the help of the mysterious Novice Monk (Lee), Jake must race against time to save his wife, Prang (Sperbund), and stop the occultist Mek (Morrone) from opening the Gates of Hell. The movie is based on "Home Sweet Home," a popular survival horror video game by YGGDrazil, which has sold over a million copies worldwide and become a phenomenon on YouTube and Twitch, amassing more than 370 million views across both platforms.

The film has also secured distribution rights in several international territories, including the United Kingdom (Signature Entertainment), Germany (Splendid Film), the Middle East (ECS), CIS (Area Media), Taiwan (Vie Vision), the Philippines (Pioneer), Indonesia (Prima Cinema), and India (Picture Works).

The movie is produced by Dean Altit p.g.a. under his production banner Altit Media Group, along with Pakin Maliwan, head of Thai-based Film Frame Productions. Executive producers include Tanat Juwiwat and Saroot Tubloy of YGGDrazil, Richard Alan Reid, Kia Jam, and Diamond Media.

The visual effects company Unexpected GmbH, led by co-directors Kiesl and Hacker, created over 600 shots for the film. The talented production team also includes cinematographer Maher Maleh, production designer Chumpol Krajangthong, editor Sebastian Wild, costume designer Nittaya Boonkhao, hair and makeup artists Thanon Songsil and Hathairat Srivilai, casting director Lek Thanyatorn Pantusintu, and composer Tao Liu.

White, on behalf of Vertical, and Daniel Diamond, on behalf of Diamond Media, finalized the distribution agreement.
