Warner Bros. Discovery has promoted Christina Sulebakk to General Manager for the Nordics. In her new role, Sulebakk will be responsible for managing the group’s channels and services, as well as marketing and revenue generation of US and local content across all business areas in the Nordic region.

Most recently, Sulebakk served as Chief of HBO Max in EMEA, playing a key role in the launch and leadership of the streaming platform in 21 countries. Before that, she held various senior positions at WarnerMedia including EVP, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Distribution for HBO Europe. Moreover, she was pivotal in migrating the company’s Central European business into streaming and launching HBO España.

Sulebakk will report to James Gibbons temporarily until Gibbons changes full time to his new role of President and Managing Director at APAC later this year, having led Discovery’s Nordic business since 2020. After that, Sulebakk will report to Priya Dogra, President and CEO EMEA, excluding Poland.

“Christina is a terrific leader who has been instrumental in building our streaming market in Europe. Her knowledge of streaming, deep understanding of the business model and her local connection will make her a key player in our continued efforts in these important countries,”  Dogra commented.

“I am really looking forward to leading Warner Bros. Discovery in the Nordics together with a talented team in the local markets. We have a great content portfolio that entertains a large audience, and with availability on all screens, we have a fantastic opportunity to meet viewers where they are,”  Sulebakk added.
