Warnermedia has unveiled the inclusion of one of its most popular animated show of all time, "Tom an Jerry" in its "Tom and Jerry Time on its Cartoonito programming section on HBO Max and Cartoon Network. “Based on the beloved classic that so many parents grew up with, Tom and Jerry Time introduces a whole new generation to these iconic characters with a fresh and original take,” said Amy Friedman, Head of Kids and Family Programming, Warner Bros.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the greenlight of the original new series was revealed at a WarnerMedia Kids & Family’s live virtual event celebrating its new Cartoonito preschool programming block, debuting today on HBO Max and Cartoon Network. “For our youngest audience, Sam Register and his team at Warner Bros. Animation managed to keep all the playful hijinks, drop all the cartoon violence, and add the most delightful early childhood learning through song and story. It’s playful – with a purpose – and we think parents and their little ones will love watching and learning together," Friedman said.
Sam Register, who works for Looney Tunes Cartoons, serves as executive producer. Will Finn, who contributed to Tom and Jerry in New York, will work as showrunner and co-executive producer with Denise Downer at Stillwater joining as story editor. With a combination of key early learning concepts and comedy to inform thee world about various surrounding aspects.
Presented as a series of animated musical shorts, Tom and Jerry Time continue the rivalry between the well known Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse characters. While Tom showcasing confidence and resilience while Jerry highlights ingenuity and courage. Preschoolers will be introduced to independence, early math and literacy skills, and other key preschool educational concepts.
