ZDF Enterprises has revealed its 2021 drama slate, which includes the global licensing right acquisition, excluding Canada to Pixcom Canadian production, "White Night." "Radio-Canada has a long history of great storytelling by fostering and airing a wide variety of highly acclaimed scripted series reaching Canadian and international audiences,” Dany Meloul, General Manager for Television, Radio-Canada said. “We are therefore delighted by today’s announcement and excited to be working with such partners as Pixcom and ZDF Enterprises."

Commissioned by Radio-Canada, “White Night," translated from "Nuit Blanche," is set to begin filming this spring. The series is created by Julie Hivon and will be directed by Sébastien Gagné with Pixcom’s Dominique Veillet as a producer. Executive producers are Nicola Merola, Charles Lafortune, Sylvie Desrochers and Jacquelin Bouchard. The acquisition deal was brokered by Mirela Nastase, Director ZDFE.drama at ZDF Enterprises.

The 60-minute episodes are set in the 1970s, where Aidrian Flanagan allows Louise Hébert to become a supermodel and to eventually launch her first perfume, “White Night," leading her to become one of the most successful businesswomen of the 21st Century.  "We are excited Radio-Canada green-lit our recurring series ‘White Night,’ and to start production with ZDF Enterprises as our international partner,” Nicola Merola, Executive Producer and President of PIXCOM, said. “The unique plot twists and memorable characters of this original Québec series will move and engage audiences worldwide."

After a reception highlighting her great accomplishments, Loulou is found dead, alone, in the garden of her home.  "A family struggling to cope with an imbalance of power wielded by a person who is no longer alive, interwoven with a murder mystery, makes for a compelling series,” Robert Franke, Vice-President ZDFE.drama, ZDF Enterprises said. “‘White Night’ is an excellent addition to our scripted slate and we look forward to taking it to a wider global audience."
