HBO MAX PURCHASES STREAMING RIGHTS TO ALL3MEDIA’S “THE DOG HOUSE"

The show was the broadcaster’s second-highest rating new series launch at 8 p.m people ages 16-34 in 2019 and the fourth biggest in its time slot for all viewers. All3media International is shopping format rights to “The Dog House,” and deals are under discussion in France, Sweden, Finland, and Portugal.

All3media international has concluded a new deal with HBO Max in the U.S. for ratings-winning non-scripted series, “The Dog House.” The acquisition forms part of various new signings for the recently recommissioned Five Mile Films production for Channel 4. “Five Mile Films’ The Dog House offers the ultimate in feel-good television, exploring this heart-warming and often heart-rending - experience from both sides by featuring the stories of the rescue dogs as well as their prospective owners, which proved to be a huge hit for co-viewing, earning 'family-appointment - to-view' status,”  Sally Habbershaw, EVP Americas at All3media International said. 

All3media International is shopping for format rights for “The Dog House,” with deals are underway in France, Sweden, Finland, and Portugal.TVNZ in New Zealand and Network 10 in Australia have secured TV rights to the first series, as well as Canada’s CBC, who recently commissioned the new series at the pre-sale. In Canada, Société Radio-Canada has signed digital rights to the first series.  The eight-part first series will be available on WarnerMedia’s upcoming SVOD service HBO Max in the U.S. Broadcasters who purchased rights to the show include VRT for Flemish Belgium, SVT in Sweden, Yleisradio Oy-TV1 in Finland, TV2 in Denmark and Sýn hf for Iceland.

The first series of “The Dog House” earning critical acknowledgment and rating success during its launch on Channel 4 in the U.K. in September 2019. “The Dog House,” follows the mood shifts of the human-dog dating experience at a British dog rescue center. It takes place inside a rural British Dog Rescue Centre famous for its commitment to matching homeless dogs with new owners and records the arrivals of unwanted pets complete with heart-rending tales of abandonment, while also telling the stories of dog-hungry, families, couples, singletons, all carrying the baggage of their backstories and hoping their lives might be transformed by the company of a new four-legged friend. Numerous cameras mounted inside a special pen observe the dogs and their prospective new owners when they meet.
