All3Media International has significantly bolstered its global distribution profile with two major announcements: the sale of over 100 hours of premium drama to Kazakhstan's Freedom Media and the recommissioning of the globally acclaimed “Midsomer Murders” for its 26th season by ITV.
In a landmark content deal, Kazakhstan’s leading streaming platform Freedom Media has acquired 110 hours of high-end scripted programming from All3Media International’s catalogue. The package includes critically lauded and star-powered dramas such as both seasons of “Black Snow” starring Travis Fimmel, and “The Tourist” led by Jamie Dornan, each comprising 6 one-hour episodes. Emily Blunt’s Western drama “The English,” another six-part series created by Emmy-nominated Hugo Blick, is also included, alongside dark thrillers like “Angela Black” and “Boat Story,” each spanning 6 episodes.
The acquisition extends to one-off thrillers and limited series featuring top-tier British talent. Hugh Laurie headlines the four-part political drama “Roadkill,” while “Too Close,” starring Emily Watson and Denise Gough, delivers a tense three-part psychological narrative. Other titles include the four-part “Captivated,” starring Kara Tointon and Allen Leech, and “Mrs Wilson,” a three-part period drama starring Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson, based on her own family history.
True crime also forms a substantial component of the deal. All 12 episodes of “The Gold” – the gripping dramatization of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery starring Hugh Bonneville and Dominic Cooper – are heading to Kazakh screens. Sheridan Smith leads “I Fought the Law,” a four-part emotional true crime drama. Additional entries such as “Far North” (6 x 1 hour), “The Long Shadow” (7 x 1 hour), and locally adapted versions of “Trigger Point,” “The Missing,” and “Accused” round out a package aimed at diversifying and upgrading Freedom Media’s scripted offerings.
“Star-studded casts, award-winning producers, captivating universal storylines and premium production values define our scripted catalogue, so we are thrilled Freedom Media has acquired more than 100 hours of our drama,” said Gabriel Andrews, Sales Executive for Balkans, Greece, Turkey, and CIS at All3Media International. “Having already brought our scripted formats to life in compelling local productions… we’re delighted they are now bringing this stellar line-up of dynamic dramas to stream in Kazakhstan.”
Simultaneously, All3Media International and ITV confirmed the recommission of “Midsomer Murders” for a 26th series. The new commission adds four feature-length episodes to the long-running detective series, bringing its total episode count to 148. Produced by Bentley Productions and starring Neil Dudgeon as DCI Barnaby, the show remains a global ratings powerhouse. Currently active in nearly 200 territories, it remains a top-three performer in key markets including Germany, Scandinavia, and the Baltics.
“We’re thrilled to be returning to Midsomer with Barnaby and Winter. Series 26 promises to deliver four brilliant brand new cases for the legion of Midsomer Murders fans to enjoy,” said ITV Drama Commissioner Huw Kennair Jones. Executive producer Michele Buck echoed the sentiment: “We are so pleased to be able to bring viewers more tales from the fascinating world of Midsomer Murders with this series 26 commission.”
“Midsomer Murders” also leads ITVX’s FAST channel viewership, where all episodes are available for streaming. The brand continues to extend its influence beyond TV with an interactive novel, mobile games, a podcast, and a theatrical stage adaptation debuting later this year in the UK.
Louise Pedersen, CEO of All3Media International, emphasized the show’s strategic value: “Midsomer Murders is a brand that continues to resonate with fans both globally and here in the UK. It’s a show whose repeatable loyalty factor enables us to position the series on various platforms – from PSBs to AVOD and FAST – and increase the series’ reach to new audiences. We’re thrilled that we have now passed the 25th series landmark and look forward to Bentley delivering Season 26 in 2026.”
Together, these announcements reinforce All3Media International’s strategy of deepening its global reach through high-quality IP, combining scalable scripted formats with universally compelling narratives.
