Hulu has acquired rights to debut "Schitt's Creek" in the US beginning 3 October 2022. "Based on the number of 'Schitt's Creek' GIFs we Slack every day, it's no surprise that we are absolutely thrilled to welcome Johnny, Moira, Alexis, 'David' and the wonderfully unique residents of Schitt's Creek to Hulu," President of Hulu, Joe Earley, said."We can't wait to share the award-winning, blisteringly-funny, yet heart-warming series and characters with our subscribers. We know they'll fit in nicely."

"Schitt's Creek" is created by Eugene and Daniel Levy, produced by Not A Real Company Productions Inc., and commissioned by CBC. Both Levys work alongside Andrew Barnsley, Fred Levy, David West Read, and Ben Feigin as executive producers. The production made in association with CBC and Pop TV will be distributed by Lionsgate domestically, and internationally by ITV Studios. Since its launch, the title has received ample recognition, making dozens of "best of" lists. It also received the most Emmy awards in 2020 out of any single comedy season.

The show follows an outrageously wealthy video store magnate, Johnny Rose, played by Eugene Levy, his former soap-star wife Moira, played by Catherine O'Hara, and their two children, David, played by Daniel Levy, and career socialite Alexis, played by Annie Murphy. Once the family runs out of duns, they must move to Schitt's Creek, a small-town Johnny once mentioned as a joke. Forced to live out of a hotel, the family showcases a set of everyday struggles as they work to call the place home. The title joins a diverse slate of titles, which includes "Home Economics," "Freeform's," "Single Drunk Female," and "FX's Dave," as well as originals like "Only Murders in the Building," "Life and Beth," "How I Met Your Father," and many others.
