Leonine Studios secures multi-year licensing deal with Amazon Prime Video

The deal grants Prime video exclusive second window SVOD-rights to various films and home entertainment titles for a six months.

Leonine Studios recently signed a multi-year license agreement with Prime Video. "We are happy to expand the cooperation between Leonine Studios and Prime Video to the benefit of our Prime members,” Christoph Schneider, Managing Director of Prime Video Germany said. “They can look forward to highlights such as Moonfall with Halle Berry, JOHN WICK 4 with Keanu Reeves and DOG with Channing Tatum and also have access to numerous films from LEONINE Studios' extensive catalog. It is simply great to be a Prime member.”

The deal secures Prime Video exclusive second window SVOD-rights for a 6-month period to upcoming theatrical feature films and home entertainment titles from Leonine Studios' catalog, which was released as of 1 January of this year. Non-exclusive SVOD rights to top titles from Leonine's extensive content library are also part of the deal. "It's fantastic that we can expand our long-standing partnership with Prime Video by this agreement and achieve another important milestone for our licensing business with premium content,” LEONINE Studios CEO Fred Kogel said.

The multi-year license agreement includes among others Roland Emmerich’s "Moonfall," Chad Stahelski’s "John Wick: Chapter 4," starring Keanu Reeves, the Leonine distributed sequel "John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum" reached 1.2 million admissions in German theaters; the multilayered “John Wick” spin-off "Ballerina." “In addition to our strong production collaboration, which includes series like 'FC Bayern- Behind The Legend," "The Gryphon," "FC bayern- Behind The Legend," "The Gryphon," and "One Night Stand,' Prime Video can now offer its customers the top selection of local and international premium titles from our portfolio over the coming years,” Kogel continues.

Other titles include the action-comedy "The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent," which stars Academy Award-winner Nicolas Cage in the role of a lifetime: as Nicolas Cage, Guillaume Canet’s "Asterix Obelix- The Middle Kingdom," with Gilles Lellouche, Academy Award-winner Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel and soccer superstar Zlatan Imbrahimović; Jennifer Lopez starrer "Shotgun Wedding" and the  company’s co-production "The School of Magical Animals 2," the sequel to Germany’s most successful theatrical release 2021 with more than 1.6 million admissions.
