Max announced new U.S. product updates with the introduction of the Extra Member Add-On feature, designed to give existing subscribers greater flexibility and control over how they manage sharing their Max accounts. This new feature also includes the capability to transfer an adult profile to the extra member account.
JB Perrette, CEO and President, Global Streaming and Games, Warner Bros Discovery explained the advantages of this initiative: “Extra Member Add-On and Profile Transfer are two key Max advancements, designed to help viewers with a new way to enjoy our best-in-class content at an exceptional value, and offer subscribers greater flexibility in managing their accounts,” These updates provide a simple way for subscribers to add-on a new member to their account, or for existing subscribers who have users outside of their household to smoothly, and in an uninterrupted fashion, transition their profile so that extra member can continue to access Max," commented.
The Extra Member Add-On allows a primary account owner to share their Max account by inviting a friend or family member outside their household to create a separate account with an adult profile under the same subscription. The extra members will have their own login credentials, independent from the primary account. They can stream from one profile on one device at a time and enjoy all the benefits of the primary account’s base plan. However, each account can only have one Extra Member Add-On.
The cost of the Extra Member Add-On is $7.99 per month, regardless of the subscription tier. This feature is available to users who subscribe directly to Max, but not to those who have a bundled subscription. To purchase the add-on, account owners can go to the Max subscription settings, where they can invite and manage extra members on both web and mobile platforms.
Subscribers can explore Max’s iconic library of exclusive original series, blockbuster movies, documentaries, and beloved TV from leading brands like HBO, Warner Bros., A24, Adult Swim, and the DC Universe, all with an easy-to-use and personalized experience. Fans can tune in to the latest seasons of the HBO Original “The Last of Us,” Max Original, “Hacks,” and get ready for the upcoming debuts of original series like “Duster” from J.J. Abrams (May 15), season two of “Conan O’Brien Must Go” (May 8) and “Peacemaker” (August). Max is also home to can’t-miss HBO Originals like “The White Lotus,” “The Penguin,” and “House of the Dragon,” and Warner Bros. Pictures’ films like “Barbie,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” both “Dune” films, as well as hit series like “Friends,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and many more.
