Netflix partners with UNESCO to honor India’s Heritage

Produced by Green Gold Animation, the children's series will showcase various aspects of India's culture. UNESCO seeks to encourage the 'identification, protection, and preservation of cultural and natural heritage' through its collaboration with the streamer.

Netflix’s “Mighty Little Bheem” has seen a large increase in positive feedback from its viewers, garnering millions of fans aroung the world since its 2019 debut. “We hope these shorts will spark curiosity around the world about India’s cultural diversity and resonate with both kids and parents across the globe, just as ‘Mighty Little Bheem’ has,” the streamer said. 

The film was made in collaboration with UNESCO, which seeks to encourage the 'identification, protection, and preservation of cultural and natural heritage' around the world considered to preserve the value of humanity. “Over the next year, a series of fun short videos themed ‘One Country, Incredible Diversity’ will shine a light on India’s cultural journey, including monuments, living heritage, performing arts, social practices, rituals, and festivals such as Dussehra, Diwali, and Holi.”

The short videos to be released on UNESCO New Delhi’s Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter pages, will cover food, traditions, languages and storytelling. The first video was released today in honor of India's 75th Independence day.

Produced by Green Gold Animation,  the series is intended to showcase an authentic view on India’s culture through the adventures of the young boy who enjoys cooking Pongal and flying kites around his village. “Netflix and UNESCO have come together to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage through 'Mighty Little Bheem,'" Netflix said.
