Paramount Global’s FAST operator Pluto TV is scheduled to launch on 10 Play in Australia with more than 50 FAST channels on 31 August. “These 50 Pluto TV channels represent our first step to engage with Australian audiences and we are happy to mark this milestone by partnering with 10 Play, demonstrating once more the strength of our Paramount ecosystem," Olivier Jollet, EVP and international general manager for Pluto TV said.

The channels will include dedicated programming from Paramount’s brands MTV and Nickelodeon, including "South Park," "MTV Reality," "MTV The Shores," "Nick Classics, Nick Toons, I Love Lucy, Happy Days and Dynasty. Jarrod Villani, the executive VP, chief operating and commercial officer, and regional lead for Paramount Australia & New Zealand, highlighted the success of 10 Play this past year and the potential the collaboration would bring to the Australian market. “This announcement builds on 10 Play’s success in 2023 – the biggest year ever for the platform with minutes viewed up 21% on 2022," Villani said. "It gives 10 Play a unique and strong point of difference in the Australian market that will build on nearly a decade of insights gathered from delivering alternate viewing experiences.”

The expansion follows the company's recent deal Virgin Media to launch the FAST streaming app on its TV boxes. As a result of this deal, Virgin Media customers with Virgin TV 360 and Stream can access Pluto TV’s catalog of TV series and films directly via the set-top box at no extra cost. The platform has already established its presence across three continents and over 35 markets.

This most recent expansion forms part of the streaming service's efforts to engage with local audiences and provide a unique user experience with curated channels specifically targeted at Australian market.“As pioneers in the FAST industry, we are bringing a new and unique user experience through curated channels dedicated to this market," Jollet said. "Our mix of local and international content which matches the needs of our local audiences is what makes Pluto TV so valuable for viewers, clients, and partners across the world.”
