RAI RENEWS ITS OTT PLATFORM RAIPLAY

The streaming service presents a complete new look: from the modern and appealing interface to the multiple functions of the latest generation. The first original Italian production is the show "VivaRaiPlay!".

Rai launched its renewed platform RaiPlay with a complete new look that include a modern and appealing interface and multiple functions of the latest generation in order to compite with the others streaming services as Netflix, Sky Go and Mediaset Play in a crowded OTT landscape.

The first original Italian production showed on the renewed platform is "VivaRaiPlay!" with Fiorello, broadcast with a preview from November 4th to 8th on Rai1 and RaiPlay. The show will continue exclusively on RaiPlay from November 13th every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Rai platform offer will be expanded and enriched with exclusive international acquisitions, film shows, TV series, documentaries, box sets with programs taken from the archive of the Teche, sports and cartoons. Another big news is that RaiPlay will become a pure OTT channel able to offer for free a wide selection of original content and innovative language in on demand mode, continuing to be the place to follow direct or review a TV program.

The starting numbers are already exceptional: 12.4 million registered users and 12 million apps downloaded. The viewed videos are 488 million in the period January / September 2019 with a +75% compared to 2018, while the viewing hours were 200 million with a +75% compared to the previous year. Visitors were 112 million.
