RTL Creative Unit and Signal.Stream have announced the launch of “Catch Us If You Can,” a reality competition format that merges live studio dynamics with a real-time European manhunt, premiering exclusively on RTL's Dutch streaming platform Videoland. The eight-episode format pits six celebrity duos against three high-profile celebrity targets in a public chase stretching from iconic European cities to remote villages, with audiences directly influencing the outcome.
Wouter van der Pauw, founder of Signal.Stream, said: “With ‘Catch Us If You Can,’ we set out to create a chase competition that doesn’t just play out on screen, but also in the hands of the audience. Viewers don’t just watch—they shape the game. Piloted on YouTube and refined with audience feedback, it now arrives on Videoland at a European scale.”
Ralph de Beurs, Creative Director of RTL Creative Unit, added: “We aim to create formats for Videoland that truly stand out. The collaboration with Signal.Stream has proven highly successful, thanks to their innovative approach to developing and producing new concepts. ‘Catch Us If You Can’ combines the energy of a live studio show with the unpredictability of a real-world chase across Europe.”
Co-developed by RTL Creative Unit—creators of hit formats like “B&B of Love” and “The Traitors”—and streaming-first format studio Signal.Stream, known for “Most Wanted,” “Know Where to Hide” and “The Heist,” the project is a multi-party collaboration in partnership with Talpa Studios’ digital brand StukTV.
“Catch Us If You Can” opens live from a studio where a Gamemaster sets the rules before the chase begins. The three targets receive a one-hour head start to hide anywhere across the continent. From then on, six celebrity teams choose their target and execute daily missions in pursuit. The game becomes increasingly high-stakes as the public—viewing in real-time—can submit tips, record footage, and inadvertently expose the hiding spots, becoming de facto players in the game. Every evening, the duo furthest from success faces elimination.
The series represents a new hybrid model of interactive, transmedia storytelling tailored for streaming audiences. Built with real-time audience input and continuous gameplay, it is one of the most ambitious original entertainment formats launched by Videoland to date.
