TIVO PARTNERS WITH PLUTO TV TO EXPAND ITS CONTENT NETWORK

The deal with the free streaming service will bring 50,000 hours of programming, with 250 live, linear, ad-supported channels and thousands of movies and shows. Pluto TV will soon be released on TiVo EDGE, TiVo’s premium in 4K definition, and will be compatible will antenna or digital cable.

Tivo announced a partnership with Pluto TV, which will promote ease of content discovery by introducing one-click access to Pluto TV programming, which will include over 250 live, linear, ad-supported channels along with thousands of movies and television shows on-demand. The addition of Pluto TV will expand and enhance the TiVo+ content network with 50,000 hours of programming. 

Through Pluto TV, which has over 22 million monthly active users, TiVo customers will also have seamless access to channels and on-demand content across multiple categories including news, sports, kids, movies, music, reality, pop culture, cooking, lifestyle, Spanish and E-sports programming alongside the TV and subscription services people already use. "We launched TiVo+ because we wanted to bring entertainment together in one easy place for viewers, and this partnership allows viewers to easily discover an awesome array of 50,000 hours of free programming from Pluto TV via TiVo+,”  said Dave Shull, President and CEO of Tivo. “Now we can definitively say we’re catering to everyone’s tastes and preferences, making a finding, watching and enjoying something they love easier than ever before.”

Pluto TV will be released in the upcoming weeks to customers on TiVo EDGE, TiVo’s premium, 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD), all-in-one media device, with versions designed to work with HD antenna or digital cable. Pluto TV was acquired by Viacom for USD 340 million in early 2019. Since the deal's completion in December, ViacomCBS has capitalized on the platform since the company received its largest product upgrade in years and a more persistent marketing campaign. Launched last fall, TiVo+ is enabled by partnerships with Jukin Media , XUMO, which was obtained by Comcast, and others, to deliver a a wide variety of free streaming content to TiVo viewers.
