ViX's new original series, "Cualquier Parecido," premieres on 25 August on the service's premium plan. The series, produced by Paramount Television International Studios in collaboration with Argos Contenido Original, is directed by Karina Minujin and executive produced by Jaime Ramos and Andrea de l a Torre, along with showrunner Natasha Ybarra-Klor, who is also the executive producer and creator of the series.
The comedy stars Camila Sodi, who also serves as creator and executive producer of the series, and actor and singer-songwriter Jencarlos Canela as a special guest. The original production cast also includes Antonio Gaona, Claudette Maille, Valeria Vera, Danny Perea, and Danae Reynaud.
"Cualquier Parecido," tells the story of Carlota, who, after separating from the person she thought was the love of her life, discovers that the saying "happily ever after" is not always true, but that doesn't mean she can't be happy. Based on real-life events, the series features stories of love and heartbreak, friendship, family, fame, sex, and the experience of rediscovering oneself, becoming empowered, and starting over. The series will now form part of Vix's catalog, featuring over 75,000 hours of on-demand content and over 100 streaming channels. The platform, available in the U.S., Mexico, and most of Spanish-speaking Latin America, offers free access as well as a premium subscription.
