ABC Commercial is expanding its reach into Asia and will return to the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) in December with a new slate of scripted and unscripted content. This comes on the back of a number of new licensing deals in the region, including the sale of children’s live-action comedy "Born To Spy" to Warner Bros. Discovery APAC, science and technology series "Catalyst" to Hong Kong’s HKIBC, rich catalogue content including "Bananas in Pyjamas", "Muster Dogs" and "72 Dangerous Animals" to True Visions in Thailand and "Four Corners", "Foreign Correspondent" and "Catalyst" content to Asharq News.

Leading the charge at ATF will be two spectacular children’s programs that garnered widespread attention at MIP Junior in Cannes earlier this year, "Beep and Mort" and "Reef School" were the third and fifth most watched programs respectively in the MIP Junior Screenings Library and are expected to be popular at ATF.

Both programs have a unique style, "Beep and Mort" (HD 20x15’ or 10x30’) mixes puppetry with technology to create screen magic while "Reef School" (HD 20x11’) uses stunning underwater footage featuring a heart-warming cast of sea creatures.
On the factual front, "Inside The Sydney Opera House" (HD 3x60’) takes viewers behind-the-scenes of one of the world’s most iconic performing arts centres, while "Great Southern Landscapes" (HD 6x30') sees actor and art lover Rachel Griffiths explore iconic landscapes and the untold personal, social and cultural stories behind them.

Science comes to the fore with two WildBear Entertainment productions: "Home: The Story of Earth" (HD 4x60’) – a deep dive into the 4-billion-year-old story of our planet – and "Our Brain" (HD 4x60’), an ‘owner’s manual’ that highlights breakthrough discoveries illuminating our enigmatic organ.

At ATF, ABC Commercial will be part of the Australia Pavilion L11, and will be represented by Brian Lee, Sales Manager, Digital and Alex Zhou, Sales Executive, Asia & MENA. “Asia is an exciting market for ABC Commercial, and recent sales suggest a strong appetite for our content, particularly our children’s, science and natural history programs – areas where we excel,” said Lee. “I’m excited to introduce buyers to our new slate at ATF, and with high quality production, universal themes, and incredible storytelling, these programs should resonate with the Asian market,” he added.

“I’m looking forward to meeting with familiar faces and making new connections at ATF. I think there’s something for everyone among ABC Commercial’s extensive catalogue of world-class content, and I’d like to keep building on the recent interest in our programs within Asia,” said Alex Zhou.
