The four-part documentary series "The legends of Paris" produced by Silex FIlms, will premiere in Annecy, France, on June 10, 2024. This 100% French-made series immerses viewers in 19th-century Paris, featuring 2,000 detailed Parisian settings. The film was made using100% 2D animation on TVPaint and Rebelle. Traditional animation rendering: ink, watercolor, gouache and oil paint, pencil sketches. "The legends of Paris" also addresses contemporary issues such as freedom of the press, political exile, poverty, social injustice, the birth of the Republic, early feminism, madness, and the rise of realism. The animation production took two years and involved a team of 90 people, 80% of whom are women. It addresses themes such as freedom of the press, political exile, poverty, and social injustice.
