The International Animation Film Festival and Market welcomed 15,820 accredited attendees (a 19% increase in 2022) from 102 countries. At the ceremony, 22 Official Prizes were presented by the 11 juries.

"More than ever, Annecy deserves its status as a world capital of animation film. This new attendance record symbolizes the acknowledgment and trust of industry professionals. It is a community that couldn’t imagine missing this gathering and who showed their commitment a few days after the events that shook our city. It also highlights the dynamism of an industry and the artists’ creativity. CITIA is immensely proud to be a mainstay in such an admirable sector", Mickaël Marin, CEO at CITIA, said.

While the streets are still ringing to the sounds of the mariachis after seven days of vibrating to a Mexican beat, the city is preparing to be decorated in sumptuous azulejos patterns. Director Regina Pessoa, Cristal for a Short Film in 2006 with Tragic Story with Happy Ending (Historia trágica com final feliz), Jury Award and Best Original Music Award for a Short Film, sponsored by the SACEM in 2019 for Uncle Thomas – Accounting for the Days (Tio Tomás – A contabilidade dos dias) and José Miguel Ribeiro, Director of the feature film Nayola in the 2022 Official Selection, made a video announcement to the public, in the presence of Isabel Corte-Real, Cultural Councilor of the Portuguese Embassy in France, to reveal that Portuguese animation will be in the spotlight in 2024.
