Boutique co-producer and distributor About Premium Content (APC) is launching new Australian drama series “Operation Buffalo” at MIPTV 2020 alongside the psychological thriller “Man in Room 301” and high-end drama series “La Linea Invisible”.

The Australian title is written by renowned writer/director Peter Duncan (“Rake”) and produced by Porchlight Films’ Vincent Sheehan (“The Kettering Incident”, “Animal Kingdom”, “Kiki & Kitty”) and Tanya Phegan, who co-created the series with Duncan. The six-part series turns the events and frightening truths of the British 1950’s atomic testing into a blend of espionage thriller, political satire and biting black comedy set in the outback of South Australia.

APC has participated in the financing of the project and takes worldwide distribution rights. “Operation Buffalo” is set to air on ABC Australia in May 2020, and is being made with major production investment from Screen Australia in association with the ABC and Create NSW, and with support from the South Australian Film Corporation.

Produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Finland and the UK’s Wall to Wall Media, the six-part series “Man in Room 301” is written by the UK’s award-winning Kate Ashfield (“Born to Kill”, “Shaun of the Dead”) and directed by Finland’s Mikko Kuparinen for Elisa Viihde. This psychological thriller weaves between the past and present to tell the story of the Kurtti family, whose lives irrevocably changed when two-year-old Tommi is killed by a gunshot. Whilst on their family holiday in Greece 12 years later, they come across a man that looks just like the boy’s alleged killer.

The third show APC will be unveiling at MIPTV is new high-end drama series “La Línea Invisible” (6x45’), APC’s latest collaboration with Movistar+ following the huge success of “Gigantes”. The series takes viewers back to 1963 to the early days of the Basque nationalist paramilitary group ‘Euskadi Ta Askatasuna’ (ETA), and follows an idealistic young man who gets gradually more involved with the increasingly violent organisation until there is no turning back. Based on an original idea from Abel García Roure, written by Michel Gaztambide and Alejandro Hernández and directed by Mariano Barroso, the Spanish-language series starring Antonio de la Torre is produced by Movistar+ in collaboration with Sentido Films and Corte y Confección de Películas, and will premiere on Movistar in 2020. APC has global rights to the show outside Spain and Latin America.
