ATV’S “THE OTTOMAN”, AWARDED AT THE VENICE TV FESTIVAL

The awards, spread around 28 countries, took place on 28th September. The prime-time TV drama's first season debut in Turkey was a success, and the series has been obtained worldwide.

ATV’s series “The Ottoman” took home the win for The Best Telenovela category at the Venice TV awards on 28th September 2020. The ATV prime-time TV Drama, which airs on Wednesdays, has completed season 1 with excellent rating results in Turkey. The second season is going to be on air in October. 

The series has been obtained by markets all over the world. The awards represented 28 countries including Turkey, proving that great television knows no borders. The event is supported by the International Music + Media Centre [IMZ], the European Group of Television Advertising [egta], and the Association of Commercial TV [ACT].

Two weeks after the Venice Film Festival occured, international jurors met in Venice for the annual Venice TV Award. The jury evaluated TV shows from all around the world in 16 categories as the awards are seen as a statement that “the TV Industry remains active, successful and creative!“ 

The Venice TV Award was launched in honor of outstanding television works, increasing national and international recognition for both producers and broadcasters who create high-quality output.  The purpose of the awards is to highlight the continuing growth and global appeal of television.
