EVERYTHING READY FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EMMY AWARDS 2019

This Monday, November 25, 2019, the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala will be held at the New York Hilton Hotel. This year, there are 44 nominees across 11 categories and 21 countries.

This Monday, November 25, 2019, the 47th International Emmy Awards Gala will be held at the New York Hilton Hotel. This year, there are 44 nominees across 11 categories and 21 countries. Nominees come from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, the Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom & the United States.

“The diversity, geographic spread and quality of this year’s nominees is a testament to the increasing wealth of outstanding television being created on a global scale,”  said Bruce L. Paisner, President and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. “We congratulate the nominees for their outstanding achievements and look forward to recognizing them at our International Emmy Gala in New York,”  he added.

In addition to the presentation of the International Emmy Awards for programming and performances, the Academy will present special awards to Christiane Amanpour, one of the world’s most preeminent broadcast journalists, currently Chief International Anchor for CNN and host of PBS’ nightly global affairs show “Amanpour”; and to “Game of Thrones’” creators and showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

This year’s host will be stand-up comedian and actor Ronny Chieng, a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” and star of “Crazy Rich Asians”. Born in Malaysia, and raised in the United States and Singapore; Chieng has sold out multiple global stand-up comedy theater tours. He also co-wrote and starred in his own television comedy series, “Ronny Chieng: International Student”, which aired on ABC Australia, BBC, Comedy Central Asia and Comedy Central US.

Each year, the leading television producers from around the world showcase their programming and compete to be recognized at the prestigious International Emmy® Awards. Over one thousand international broadcasting, production and distribution executives convene to celebrate the best in global television.
