Globo gets to MIP Cancun, the main event dedicated to Hispanic and Latino audiovisual, with its latest releases and a varied portfolio of telenovelas, series, documentaries and formats. And within the official schedule, on the 15th, at 7:45 am, the company promotes a breakfast and shows for the first time to the international market 'Land of Desire', a telenovela that is currently airing in prime time in Brazil. The production by Walcyr Carrasco, winner of the International Emmy for 'Hidden Truths', reached around 32 million people a day during the first eleven weeks of broadcast.
“It will be great to meet our partners again at MIP Cancun and also open new conversations. Presenting a telenovela like 'Land of Desire' will be a great opportunity to reinforce our production quality. It's a classic serial, a saga set in incredible landscapes in Brazil. We are very excited to see the receptivity of the international market to this screening,” comments Isadora Filpi, Content Distribution and Partnerships at Globo.
Other telenovelas highlighted at MIP Cancun are 'Perfect Love', which was launched for the international market during MIPCOM, in October, and 'Never Give Up', which is already guaranteed to be shown in Poland, Bulgaria, El Salvador and Uruguay. Globo also bets on selling formats of its hits such as 'Total Dreamer’, 'The Favorite', 'The Life We Lead' and 'Hidden Truths'. Recently, the company announced the sale of the 'Brazil Avenue’ format, one of its most successful products, to Turkish producer Ay Yapim, reinforcing the movement to take its stories to local adaptations.
Among the Globoplay Originals are 'Xuxa, a Life on TV', a documentary series that reveals behind the scenes of the personal and professional life of Xuxa Meneghel, one of the biggest celebrities in Brazil and Latin America; and 'Rensga Hits', a musical series that tells the story of Raíssa Medeiros (Alice Wegmann), a young woman from the countryside who discovers that she is betrayed by her ex-fiancé and abandons him at the altar, heading towards her dream of making a living from music.
“With the variety of our portfolio, we show that Globo has solutions for different types of business. Whether with telenovelas, series, documentaries or formats, we believe in the universality of our stories and the strength they have when connecting with different audiences,” adds Regiane Marcílio, Content Distribution and Partnerships at Globo.
