Mipcom 2024: GRB Media Ranch to showcase 5,200 hours of content

New catalog includes acquisitions of 150+ new hours of factual programming: paranormal, true crime, food/travel, docs, bringing catalog to 5,200+ hours.

GRB Media Ranch announced the acquisition and presentation of a slate of newly acquired diverse programming, bringing its content slate to over 5,200 catalog hours, which will be available at MIPCOM. Included in the catalog are over 150 new hours of factual programming: paranormal, true Crime, food/travel, and docs, all acquired within one year after the landmark merger of GRB and Media Ranch. This collection features a diverse array of genres, including gripping true crime, tantalizing food and travel, spine-tingling paranormal stories, and thought-provoking documentaries. With this extensive portfolio, GRB Media Ranch is setting new benchmarks for the quality, quantity, and variety of its content.

Regarding newly available content, "Cutlers Court" is a courtroom reality show following Emmy-nominated Judges Dana and Keith Cutler, who hear cases from couples experiencing relationship troubles. The hot-button issues that bring them to court include cheating, paternity, and finances. The judges tackle the big question: should the relationship continue or end? The show offers 150 episodes, each lasting 30 minutes. "Playground" is a docu-reality series set in a premier professional dance studio where top choreographers teach classes, and musicians like Megan Thee Stallion hold auditions. Ambitious dancers flock to the sessions, leading to plenty of drama. The series consists of 9 episodes, each 60 minutes long. "Carol of the Bells" is a film starring RJ Mitte, known for his role in "Breaking Bad." He portrays a young man with a troubled past who embarks on a journey to find his biological mother, only to discover that she has developmental disabilities. Produced by Inclusion Films in partnership with Futures Explored, Inc. and Options for All, the film's crew included 70% individuals with developmental disabilities. This feature won the Audience Favorite Feature award at the 2019 San Diego International Film Festival. The movie is 100 minutes long, and a 25-minute behind-the-scenes documentary accompanies it. FInally, "Carnival Catwalk" is a thrilling fashion reality show where designers from around the world compete on a dream island. Blending fashion, the vibrance of Caribbean Carnival, and intense competition, contestants vie for a grand cash prize and a showcase at Milan Fashion Week. This series includes 9 episodes, each 60 minutes long.

As for wildlife programming, "Owl Rescue" is a South African reality series focusing on wildlife and conservation. Husband and wife duo Brendan and Danelle Murray have been running a non-profit called “Owl Rescue Centre” in Hartebeespoort Dam, Northwest Province, for the past 15 years, dedicated to the well-being of South Africa’s wild owl population. Besides thousands of successful owl rescues, the couple also rehabilitates other wild animals such as porcupines, peacocks, serval cats, otters, and many more. This wildlife docuseries includes 10 episodes of 30 minutes each, filmed in HD. Meanwhile, "It’s Pawsable" offers an inside look at South Africa's animal world, where Heather and her team at Paws-itive Paws-ibilities bring dreams to life at their world-class veterinary rehabilitation facility. The series features heartwarming stories and the inspiring journeys of Heather’s furry patients and their devoted pet parents. The series consists of 8 episodes, each 30 minutes long, filmed in 4K. Also, "Prairie 911: Animal Rescue" is a documentary series that follows the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and abandoned animals at the Canadian Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre, led by Dr. Fanny and her team. The series spans 26 episodes, each 22 minutes long.

In the paranormal genre, "Haunted Hollywood: Inside the LAPD Museum" uncovers infamous true crimes in Los Angeles and explores the spirits haunting a former police precinct. Notable cases include the Charles Manson murders, Marilyn Monroe’s death, and the Night Stalker. This paranormal docuseries contains 8 episodes of 60 minutes each.

In terms of crime stories, "Canadian Case Files" from Fair-Play International Inc. delves into some of Canada’s most famous criminal cases from the past 30 years. Filmed with a documentary-style reenactment, the series portrays events leading up to the crime and the crime itself, often shot in the actual locations where they occurred. The English version includes 49 episodes of 30 minutes each, while the French dubbed version has 52 episodes of 30 minutes each.

As for documentaries, "Blue: The Life and Legacy of George Rodrigue" offers a portrait of the world-renowned New Orleans Cajun artist, George Rodrigue, known for his golden-eyed Blue Dog creation. The documentary features interviews with his friends and celebrities such as Chef Emeril Lagasse, Drew Brees, and James Carville. This documentary runs for 60 minutes. "Lebanese Burger Mafia" is a James Beard-nominated food documentary about Burger Baron, a rogue Canadian fast-food chain with mysterious origins, a cult following, and a pathway to achieving the immigrant dream. This documentary runs for 120 minutes. "No Limits" from Pastel Fish Productions follows Leah Goldstein, a professional Canadian-Israeli road racing cyclist, former 1989 World Bantamweight Kickboxing Champion, and Israel’s 1998 Duathlon champion. In 2021, she became the first woman to win the overall solo division of the Race Across America. This documentary runs for 93 minutes.
