"Underdog Inc."
Big Time Decent International, the recently launched distribution business from Canada’s Big Time Decent Productions, reveals its program slate for its freshman attendance at next month’s MIPCOM. Comprising 80+ hours across five series, each produced by Big Time Decent Productions, this inaugural slate is a mix of character-driven reality and documentary, plus true crime and mystery series with a twist – all driven by extraordinary access, brilliant storytelling and high-end production values.
Leading the slate is "Underdog Inc." (8x60, plus a second 8x60 series in production), an obs-doc series that follows four-foot-tall trucker, handyman, and all-around problem-solver Dale Kristensen, a man living with dwarfism, as he takes on the jobs nobody else will in the wilds of Western Canada. Dale’s stature may be small, but his ambition is towering. Packed with stunning scenery, adrenaline-charged rescues, and the unstoppable spirit of a true underdog, "Underdog Inc.", which made a record-breaking debut on AMI in Canada, successfully combines blue-collar grit with universal heart.
Big Time Decent International is also introducing four major new series for pre-sales: "American Occult" (16x60) plunges into the chilling true stories of crimes driven by fringe faiths, satanic rituals, and supernatural delusions—cases where belief becomes a weapon and reality itself is twisted beyond recognition.
"Scam Capitals" (16x60) is a fast-paced, high-stakes true crime series that takes viewers inside the world’s boldest cities built on deception—where scams aren’t just a side hustle, they’re part of the culture.
"Mysteries of the Hollow Earth" (24x60) explores one of history’s most mind-bending and enduring conspiracy theories: that our planet is not solid, but hollow—and that an entirely new world exists beneath our feet.
"Yukon Tow" (16x60) is a high-octane doc series set on the brutal highways of Canada’s north, where survival can hinge on the grit of tow truck drivers. Each episode follows veteran hauliers, rookies, and fearless specialists as they take on jaw-dropping recoveries in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
René Brar, Head of Development & Sales at Big Time Decent International, says: “We are excited to attend our first MIPCOM and look forward to sharing this slate of unscripted titles with a wide range of buyers. Big Time Decent is known for its compelling, character-driven content, so we have high hopes for 'Underdog Inc.', following Dale Kristensen, as he navigates immense life challenges. We are also proud to present fresh new takes on hot topics like true crime and mystery, and are confident that our alternative viewpoints and international stories – all underpinned by exclusive access, leading experts and Big Time Decent’s production skills – will be much in demand.”
