Globo will present on October 16, starting at 9 am (GMT time) the showcase "New Globo Series Powered by Original Globoplay". The virtual pitching, which is part of Mipcom 2020 official schedule and will take place on the event platform, will present the diversity of the new series produced by Globoplay, Globo’s OTT platform, to the market.
The showcase will count on the participation of Angela Colla, Head of International Sales of the company, and will share new stories of varied genres, with innovative and dynamic narratives, aligned to the global consumption trends. It will present the series ‘Unsoul’, supernatural thriller that premieres in Brazil late October, the electrifying police thrillers ‘Renegade Archangel’ and ‘Anti Kidnapping Unit’, and the romantic comedy ‘All the Women in the World’. The products are also part of Globo’s catalog for MIipcom 2020.
Additionally, the company will hold an exclusive presentation of the teaser of the special edition of the series ‘Under Pressure – Covid Special’, which deals with another current theme: the coronavirus pandemic. Created as a tribute to all professionals that work on the front line against the disease that has been affecting the world, the series shows the return of the duo of physicians Carolina (Marjorie Estiano, nominated to Emmy International for her acting in the series second season) and Evandro (Julio Andrade) to Rio de Janeiro after a period of community work mission in the countryside of Brazil. They are called in a rush to work in a field hospital built to treat patients infected with Covid-19.
Written by Lucas Paraizo, with consultancy by physician Marcio Maranhão, ‘Under Pressure – Covid Special’ has artistic direction by Andrucha Waddington. ‘Under Pressure’, a co-production by Globo with Conspiração Filmes, was already licensed to more than 65 countries.
