During the second day of the TV market NEM Dubrovnik 2021, which is being celebrated at the Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, executives analyzed how much and in what way does technology affect the development of the television industry.

During a set of presentations called “TV Tech Showcase,” technology experts from several globally successful companies shared their knowledge and experience, and explained the key strategies they apply to their customers. British company Synamedia with offices around the world, American WhipMedia and BitMovin, as well as polish SeaChange, answered one of the key questions: how to monetize content in an ever-changing environment?

Keynote speech given by Peter Parmenter, from DAZN, introduced a hot topic of sports streaming and presented the global sports streaming service. “DAZN tells raw stories about success and failure in human form. We want to be a supersized sport destination in every part of the world,”  he said. Parmenter also emphasized the importance of partnerships, which greatly affect DAZN's success: "We have bought the global rights to broadcast UEFA Women's Champions League and partnered with YouTube to make this sport available to fans around the world".

What will the future of sports broadcast look like and is watching matches on linear television a thing of the past? According to speakers from the panel “Is Streaming the Future of Sports?,” without a doubt. Later, during the panel “Age Of Streamers: What Is The Audience Asking For? How Important Is Local Original Content?,” television experts talked about viewer's preferences and how to implement that insight to local markets.

The day continued through numerous meetings in the restaurants and terraces of the Hotel Dubrovnik Palace. RTL's PLAY Premium gave everyone an introduction to evening events by serving cocktails next to the hotel pool, and the fun continued in the Old City of Dubrovnik, at the Club Lazareti, where Prva TV hosted a big party.

Most of the program of NEM Dubrovnik 2021 is being held in the open, according to determined epidemiologic measures. To see the event’s full agenda, click here.
