Realscreen has announced the 87 nominees selected for the 2024 Realscreen Awards program competition, recognizing outstanding content from around the world in the industry’s global celebration of excellence in non-fiction and unscripted entertainment.
“The range of finalist programs curated by the international jury is a testament to the power of unscripted,” Realscreen EVP Mary Maddever said. “From formats to blue chip docs, the nominees showcase the level of creativity, innovation and cultural relevance required to win over audiences, and underscore how important the role of factual is right now.”
The Realscreen Awards have comprehensively recognized unscripted and non-fiction programming from around the world since 2010. The 2024 program competition is juried by a panel of more than 150 senior international industry professionals from 18 countries, who work across the genres that make up the Realscreen umbrella of content.
The leading nominations by company are Netflix with 23 nominations, Warner Bros. Discovery with 13 nominations, NBCUniversal / Sky Networks with 12 nominations, and Disney Entertainment / ESPN with 8 nominations. The countries represented in the nominations include Australia, Canada, Germany, France, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
