French Fiction Festival
The French Fiction Festival will celebrate a new edition from 10-15 September, in La Rochelle, France, where nearly 3,000 TV professionals will discover the excellence of French creation and its international influence. This year's event, which will focus on the French-speaking world, will welcome not only the heads of France's major broadcasting groups, but also key figures from the French-speaking and international broadcasting industries.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT
The Festival will offer an official European competition with series from the UK, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden. The 6 drama series in competition are "Behind Every Man" (Denmark; DR); "Dead and Buried" (United Kingdom; BBC One); "Eighteen" (Spain; RTVE); "Golden Years" (Norway; NRK); "Lost Boys & Fairies" (United Kingdom; BBC One) and "Pressure Point" (Sweden; SVT).
The French Fiction Festival will include the World Premieres presented by international platforms such as "Children Kings" (Disney+); "Une amie dévouée" with Laure Calamy ("Call my agent!"), First preview of the Max platform in France!) and "Cat's Eyes" (Prime Video).
The French event will also offer a conversation with the creative team of Netflix France and the Les Rendez-Vous de la Création Francophone, a meeting place for investors from around the world and French-language series projects.
Confirmed international investors include Beta Film; ZDF Studios (Germany); RTBF; RTL (Belgium); QUEBEC: Bell Media; Québecor; Radio Canada (Canada); Warner Bros Discovery / MAX EMEA (Europe); YLE (FINLAND); Keshet (Israel): Keshet; RTI ; Mediaset Group (Italy) and RTS (Switzerland).
Last but not least, the French Fiction Festival will feature interesting debates. "The Great Francophone Debate. How to boost Francophone co-production?"; "The Great Artistic Debate. What heroes for today's society?" and "The Great Political Debate. Public/private broadcasting: sacred union or fierce competition?"
