One of the key events of the Russian Pavilion in the Cannes International Film Festival is the presentation of the Russian Film Festival. Organized by Roskino and the Russian Ministry of Culture, it has a great socio-cultural and economic meaning stimulating interest in Russian cinema and creating a positive image of Russia abroad to further integrate Russia into the world film industry.

During online festivals in 2020 in Brazil, Spain, Mexico and Australia, films from the RFF program were watched by more than 120 thousand viewers. In 2021, the festival will take place in a hybrid format, combining online and offline events, organized in collaboration with the largest VOD platforms and festivals.

Since the beginning of the year, a series of Russian Film Festival screenings have been held in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Kazakhstan. On the 12th of July, the festival starts in South Korea on the largest platform Home Choice, and the first hybrid project – an offline integration into the Beijing International Film Festival and online screening on one of the world's largest platforms iQIYI – will be held in China this August.

Evgenia Markova, CEO of Roskino: ‘We present the new project by ROSKINO — Russian Film Festival. Among the main partners of the festival are the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Committee of Tourism of Moscow. Now one of our goals is to make the brand more recognizable for our foreign partners since it’s an incredibly important tool for developing cultural ties between countries and giving viewers all over the globe the opportunity to access Russian content. The launching of a festival like ours is one of the first systematic steps on the path to fruitful and effective cooperation between the Russian industry professionals and the international community’.
