Three Québec series make the Official Selection at Canneseries

"Thin Air" from Urbania, "Good Morning Chuck" from St Laurent TV and "Lac-Mégantic – It Is Not an Accident" from Trio Orange will participate at the Cannes event.

The SODEC (Société de développement des entreprises culturelles) congratulates the three Québec series competing in the Official Selection at Canneseries this year: "Thin Air" from Urbania, "Good Morning Chuck" (Or the "Art of Harm Reduction") from St Laurent TV and "Lac-Mégantic – It Is Not an Accident" from Trio Orange, marking this year an entry in every category of the official competition, held from April 14 to 19 in Cannes.



"Good Morning Chuck" (Or "the Art of Harm Reduction") was created by Jean-François Rivard, Nicolas Pinson, Mathieu Cyr and Émilie Lemay-Perreault, wrote by Jean-François Rivard, Sarianne Cormier and Patrick Dupuis, with Jean-François Rivard and Mathieu Cyr as directors.

"Thin Air" will compete in the section of Short Form Competition and was created wrote by Jean-Christophe Réhel with the direction of Sarah Pellerin.

"Lac-Mégantic – It Is Not an Accident" will participate in the section Documentary Series Competition and it was created by Philippe Falardeau, Nancy Guerin and Elric Robichon, wrote by Philippe Falardeau and Nancy Guerin, with the direction of Philippe Falardeau.

MIPTV 2023
On the other hand, about thirty professionals from the Québec audiovisual industry will be travelling to MIPTV 2023. On April 18, Pixcom President, Nicola Merola, will host a panel discussing co-productions with Canada as part of the International Drama Co-Production Breakfast. Three other industry experts will join the panel: Ijeoma Onah, CEO of SuperTV; Amanda Groom, managing director of The Bridge; and Victoria Yarmoshcuk, CEO of FILM.UA Group and executive director of the Ukrainian Motion Picture Association.
