Netflix has reinforced its commitment to Latin American television content by teaming up with one of the region’s most important markets, Ventana Sur, Ventana Sur, on its TV strand, SoloSeries. For the first time, Ventana Sur and Netflix have joined forces to provide more impetus to women creators with a cash incentive of US$5.000 (500.000 Argentine pesos).

The prize will be awarded to one project selected out of five SoloSeries participating projects in development by Argentine women creators. In addition, all projects will receive advice on their work from Carolina Leconte, Director of Original Series for Latin America at Netflix.

SoloSeries aims to bring together the most outstanding series and microseries projects in the region, and also to provide a key space to connect with showrunners, scriptwriters and series producers in the region and generate strategic alliances. The event will include conferences and roundtables with leading executives of the world’s top TV companies.

This year, in conjunction with the prestigious Spanish production company Espotlight, a call was launched where ten projects of series in development will be selected to participate in the SoloSeries Pitching Sessions, and at the end of the market, three important prizes will be awarded. Furthermore, the innovative Flixxo platform will select between five and eight microseries projects in development that will participate in the MicroSeries Pitching Sessions and will deliver a prize in bitcoins.
