WAPA Televisión received 20 nominations for the 46th annual Suncoast Emmy Awards. The prestigious awards are presented by the Suncoast chapter of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences (NATAS) representing the television industry in Florida; areas in Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia; and Puerto Rico. WAPA’s nominations include 13 for NotiCentro’s news team and 7 for news analysis show "Cuarto Poder," accruing more nominations than any other station in Puerto Rico. The Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on 10th December in Orlando, Florida.

The Crime News category includes "Mujeres al Mando de las Carreteras" (“Women in Charge of the Highways”), and "¿Asesinato o Legítima Defensa? El Estremecedor Caso de Shirley Vera Barreto" (“Murder or Self-Defense? The Shocking Case of Shirley Vera Barreto”).
In the Diversity/Equity/Inclusion News category | Single Shift was "Retos de la Comunidad Sorda en Huracán María" (“The Deaf Community’s Challenges
During Hurricane María”), "Historias de la Central" (“Stories from the Sugar Mills”) for the Historic/Cultural News category, "Historias de San Juan: 500 Años" (“San Juan Stories: 500 Years”), as well as "Resumen 2021 – Feminicidios" (“Year-In-Review 2021 – Femicides”).
Still in its first year on the air, "Cuarto Poder," the weekly primetime investigative and news analysis show led by attorney, analyst, and journalist Jay Fonseca, received the following nominations: In the Crime category | Long Form Content was "Humo Fatal 1 & 2 (“Fatal Smoke 1 & 2”). In the Diversity/Equity/Inclusion category | Short Form Content is "El Mundo en Silencio" (“Silent World”). "Amargo Destino" and"¿Quiénes nos atienden?" made the cut for the Health/Medical category | Long Form Content category.
