The Voiceover Gallery is an audio production company specialising in voiceover and dubbing, as well as other language and sound services. Isabel González-Rodríguez, Head of Localisation at the company, describes in detail the workflow of TVG.

What sets The Voiceover Gallery apart from a dubbing and subtitling studio?
"At The Voiceover Gallery, we take pride in the personalized service we provide to both our clients and our voices. Our studios offer a welcoming environment, and our Engineers and Directors are not only highly qualified but also very approachable, which ensures that our sessions are always smooth. The production team also leaves their very special mark on each project, and their ability to accommodate each client’s demands makes a difference. Our clients know they are in capable hands, and that's why they always come back!"

What are your most notable projects and your key clients?
"We attract a wide range of clients with very different needs and content. It's very difficult to pick just a few! One of our recurrent and most enjoyable projects is the British English localization of 'Thomas The Tank Engine.' But we can't forget very well-known clients like Electronic Arts (EA) and BMW. We also work with prominent creative and advertising agencies like Publicis Groupe, Tag, and Jellyfish, which provide us with numerous projects for prestigious brands, including Unilever, Apple, and Google. When it comes to foreign language localization and international dubbing, we’ve done outstanding work for LadBible and Guildhawk."

How is the process of finding the right voices for each project?
"It all starts with a good brief. Most clients have a clear idea of the type of voice they are looking for in their project or campaign. From there, our Account and Project Managers get to work and choose the best possible casting. Not only do they know a large number of voice actors like the back of their hands (which makes the casting process fast and efficient), but they also have a fantastic database to find new and exciting voices if needed. Once the voices are shortlisted, there is a smooth dialogue between our staff and the client until the perfect voice is selected. We often run customed casting, using the actual script to ensure the final product is satisfactory."

What kind of technology do you use in your daily workflow? How much does artificial intelligence influence your audio services?
"So far, we have not turned to AI. Despite the rapid spread of AI in all industries, we believe that the quality of the outcome when it comes to audio is not yet good enough to be appealing to our clients. They continue to favour the unique character and quality that only a human voice can offer, at least for now! On the other hand, we respect our artists' wishes and strive to protect their voices from cloning as much as possible. We are constantly monitoring the progress of AI and expect that in the not too distant future we will be able to develop an interesting way of incorporating it into our offering to ensure we remain leaders in our field."
