Abu Dhabi-based distributor TwelveP Animation is closing a 2024 that was filled with new launches and deals. Señal News talked with Katerina Pshenitsyna, General Manager of TwelveP Animation, about the company's ambitious strategy to expand its footprint, adapt to market trends, and create globally resonant content from the MENA region.
With a catalog of over 300 hours of animated content, the company is focusing mainly on distribution in Asia and the Middle East. However, Pshenitsyna explained that, recently, the company has been shifting its focus towards development and production: “That was always our aim, starting from this region, but creating stories that would resonate outside of MENA.” The executive explained that they are always on the lookout for new opportunities to develop content alongside local companies, but with a global appeal, something that would differentiate them from other players in the region: “We see there are a lot of studios, but they don't take the content internationally that much. And I think we can help them a little bit.”
This year, TwelveP Animation participated for the first time in MIP Cancun, in the search for new opportunities in the Latin American market. Pshenitsyna showed enthusiasm for the uncapped potential for new businesses in the region. With new shows, such as “The Loodles“ (52 episodes), “Oomka & Me“ (52 episodes), and “The Formula For Water” (in development), all of which were announced in October during MIPCOM 2024, the company is aiming to open new doors and reach new kids and family audiences within the region.
As TwelveP Animation looks to 2025, its vision remains clear: to bridge cultures through compelling storytelling and foster collaborations that extend far beyond its home base in the UAE. With its growing portfolio and strategic ventures into new markets, the company is well-positioned to become a major player in the global animation industry, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter.
