WHAT WERE THE MOST DEMANDED SERIES IN COLOMBIA IN MAY?

In its latest study about SVOD demand in Colombia, Parrot Analytics revealed which were the most outstanding series in the country during May. The company contextualized each title within the market by stating the show's performance as a difference from the average demand for a series in the market. A difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is ten times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.

Colombian audiences love of superhero series is apparent in the top digital originals for the month of May. “WandaVision” was the most in-demand digital original of the month with 10.58 times the demand of the average series. It is interesting to compare demand for this series to the other Disney+ superhero series in the ranking, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”: although “WandaVision” concluded at the beginning of March and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” released new episodes through March and April, demand for “WandaVision” has held up incredibly well and averaged a higher demand for the month of May.

Two superhero series from Amazon were among the top 4 digital originals of May in Colombia:  “The Boys” and “Invincible” had 6.32x and 6.25x the average demand for the month. The success of Amazon's superhero series here shows that Disney+, despite its strong lineup of Marvel series, does not have a monopoly on superhero fans' attention.

“Titans” is the final superhero series in the top 10, with 4.4 times the average series demand. Of the superhero shows in the ranking it has been the longest since “Titans” released any new episodes. Demand for this show has remained high, however, fueled by high anticipation for the upcoming third season.

Rounding out the top 10 digital originals for May are three Netflix titles: “La Casa de Papel” (4.05x), “Narcos” (3.81x), and “Lucifer” (3.69x). A common theme connecting all of these shows is crime.
