British public broadcaster Channel 4 is planning to launch its own international advertising-based video on-demand service, as part of the network’s ambitions to expand its brand outside of the UK.
Six-in-ten connected-TV households now watch a free ad-supported streaming service on television, according to TDG. YouTube remains the dominant FVOD provider, with FASTs such as Pluto TV and IMDb enjoying growing audiences.
The company's customers now have access to 16 additional linear channels covering a wide variety of genres. The platform now features over 200 linear AVOD channels, credited with doubling streaming figures this year.
