The former HBO CEO, who departed the premium cable network in February after a three-decade run, is in advanced discussions to sign an exclusive production pact with Apple TV+. A deal is expected to close before the end of the year.
The new deal will see all F1 races continue to air live on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC and all practice sessions, qualifying and races will air live and in replay across ESPN platforms, including on-demand replays on the ESPN App.
The company has engaged Wavefront TV to launch Gusto TV’s connected television advertising platform. Wavefront TV will work with video ad management platform Beachfront to deploy ads across Gusto TV’s growing over-the-top television network.
The executive will step down on December 31 of this year to focus on the strategic plans of the company. Roberto Nobile, current Subdirector General, is the main candidate to replace him in the role.
