In 2019 alone, the screen sector delivered £13.48 billion to the UK economy – a significant increase from £8.6 billion in 2016 – and generated 218.790 jobs, revealed the second edition of the Screen Business report.
The title, produced by Mandarin Télévision in collaboration with CANAL+ and Autodidakte, recently debuted across 39 Latin American and Caribbean territories, with its first season garnering more than 35 million views on Canal+ digital platforms alone.
One of the world’s leading TV content distributors, the company has signed more than 2.500 license agreements over the last 15 years, with more than 1.500 in the last five years alone.
Between 2014 and 2020, the US pay-TV industry lost over 18 million subscribers, while the broadband market has accelerated, with 40% of US broadband households receiving a standalone service, new research from Parks Associates estimates.
