Online video in Finland is on the rise. During this spring, subscribing SVOD households have passed 1.5 million, corresponding to a penetration of 61%, according to Mediavision’s latest report.
The service will offer independent world cinema titles and classic movies from popular directors such as Hitchcock, Kurosawa, and Fellini, among various others.
The studio-based series scored a whopping 28.4% share in the target commercial demographic (10-54), on Nelonen channel and a superb 24.4% with all viewers (4+).
The titles were bought by SBS for Australia; NHK for Japan; RÚV Island; PBS UK; SRF for Switzerland, Radio-Canada; TG4 for Ireland; Finland’s YLE and RTVE for Spain among others.
