A study from Kantar’s Entertainment on Demand has provided a picture of how viewers around the world choose to watch sports across both pay TV and video on-demand.

Starting in January, the SPI International Affiliate will bring nine new channels, including five channels from the FilmBox package, the Kino TV film channel, as well as the documentary DocuBox HD, the FightBox HD sports channel and broadcast in 4K quality FunBox UHD.

The Premier League has concluded deals with Sky Sports and TNT Sports for five UK live packages, and with BBC Sport for the free-to-air highlights package.

The business will now look to broaden its efforts in sportainment, documentary, and digital via new partnerships, content investments, and M&A. The move will not venture into broadcast and streaming rights.

Sky has agreed new five-year partnerships with both ATP Media and WTA Ventures which will see over 80 tournaments made up of 4000 matches available on Sky Sports, NOW and WOW.
