Led by Astrid Quentell and Mirek Nitsch, who will remain in position, the company, which is soon to undergo a name change, will join Banijay Germany’s burgeoning portfolio of labels.
The production and distribution company will be part of FL Entertainment, which with this agreement happens to have an enterprise value of €7.2 billion ($7.6 billion), or €4.1 billion ($4.3 billion) in equity value.
Banijay is further growing its premium scripted offering via a partnership between Banijay Iberia and Pokeepsie Films, founded by director, screenwriter and producer Álex de la Iglesia, and actress and producer Carolina Bang.
Commencing the role at the beginning of the second quarter, in his new post he will lead the UK’s burgeoning portfolio of 20 premium unscripted and scripted production labels.
